The Difference Between Cotton and Polyester

Cotton is a breathable fabric made from natural fibers. The material is very soft and is absorbent, meaning that it easily releases and absorbs moisture.  So when you are in 90 degree weather sweating profusely, wearing cotton is ideal because it will absorb the sweat from your body making it more comfortable for you.  Given this nature, it also makes cotton more easily to become wrinkled.

Polyester is a strong and durable fabric made from artificial fibers.  Polyester is not breathable, meaning that if you are sweating in the Sahara’s heat, you are out of luck my friend.  The sweat will just sit on your body, which can make you feel pretty miserable and uncomfortable.  On the positive side, it’s pretty difficult to wrinkle and it has some nice form fitting qualities.
