There are several tips and tricks for saving money when having shirts screen-printed.  Here is the industry scoop, so that you can save some cash and enjoy spending it elsewhere!

Print On White Shirts:    It is the easiest for screen-printers to print on white shirts, also making it the cheapest!  Since it can be more difficult to print on darker colors, screen-printing costs are usually increased to print on dark shirts.

Use Fewer Artwork Colors:  The screen-printing process basically involves stamping a series of stencils dipped in ink using a variety of colors to produce a printed image.  These stencils are made out of mesh materials and are called screens in the industry.  Fewer colors in your artwork means fewer screens needed for production, which equals saving money.  So if you can get away with only one or two colors in your artwork design, that will definitely help drive costs down.

Order Large Quantities:  Increasing the number of shirts produced will lower the overall price.  This is because the set-up costs is divided out among the shirts and the cost of doing each print also drops.

Sizing:    In the shirt industry, any sizes of 2XL or larger are usually more expensive.  Stick to ordering sizes under 2XL and you will be golden!

Brands: Brands that specialize in manufacturing sporting types of apparel are typically more expensive than other brands.  Sticking to brands like Gildan ® and Port Authority ® will ensure that you get a great t-shirt without paying additional mark-ups.

These are some basic tips for helping you save money on your next order of shirts. To help you save even more money, give our customer representatives a call, and they can give you more specific advice regarding your personal order.
